Conway has served the people of Washington State for twenty plus years, first as State Representative for the 29th District and now as the Democratic senator for the Pierce County district that includes South Tacoma, East Lakewood and Parkland. In these positions he has been a fierce advocate for working people especially those working in the healthcare industry. He has also pushed for legislation that will support the most vulnerable in our communities including initiatives for affordable housing and shelters for the homeless and victims of domestic violence. Conway has also served as the Vice President Pro Tempore, is a member of the Senate Labor & Commerce Committee and serves on the Senate Ways & Means and Health & Long-Term Care committees. Before entering the world of politics, he earned a Master’s degree in history and a Doctorate in Philosophy, from the University of Oregon. He also worked as a business agent for the United Food and Commercial Worker’s Union, Local 81.
