April grew up in Florida and moved to the beautiful state of Washington in 2021– during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her move not only changed her scenery but also shaped her professional path in the most rewarding way. April's first experience in the labor movement began as she designed for local union SEIU 1199NW. It was a transformative experience as she witnessed the impact that effective communication and visual storytelling could have in amplifying workers' voices. She joined the Harry Bridges Center for Labor Studies staff in November 2023 and is excited to continue her work fostering positive change in the labor movement, empowering students and workers, and collaborating with an inspiring team of advocates. Outside the labor realm, you can often find April immersed in a good book, designing her own stationery, or simply hanging out with her two cats.
