Congratulations to Dianna Laguan for being named one of the 2025 Husky 100! The Husky 100 recognizes 100 UW undergraduate and graduate students who are making the most of their time at the UW. Her commitment to pushing for immigration reform and the rights of undocumented workers led her to pursue a passion for teaching and supporting other students from similar backgrounds.

"As a first-generation student and daughter of two Salvadorian immigrants, it was imperative that I would take advantage of the resources the UW was able to give me due to educational inequities my parents faced in El Salvador."

Dianna was the inaugural recipient of the Kennedy Drayton Scholarship in 2019. The Kennedy Drayton Scholarship in Labor Studies was created by, and named for, Ian Kennedy and Michele Drayton, former members of ILWU Local 52 and current officers of the Seattle ILWU Pensioners Club. This award provides $5,000 in financial support to working-class freshmen pursuing Labor Studies at the University of Washington, removing the financial burden that often comes with entering college.

We are extremely proud of Dianna and wish her the best in her academic endeavors!
