At the end of April, the City of Seattle Labor Standards Advisory Commission appointed Dr. Marissa Baker, affiliate faculty of the Bridges Center and Assistant Professor in the UW Department of Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences (DEOHS). The Commission is comprised of 15 members reflecting Seattle's workforce and businesses and includes employees, employers, and representatives from the community with a demonstrated concern and background in labor standards. The mission of the Labor Standards Advisory Commission is to promote and achieve workplace equity for women, communities of color, immigrants and refugees and other vulnerable workers.
